Hi Guys, My name is DEBBIE and I am 38 years old. I am married to TOMMY and I have an 12 year old daughter called Shannon-Leigh. My Brother GAV!N and I started singing when we were very small children at the Shildon Salvation Army Sunday School and while we were there, Mum would be at home, making Sunday Lunch and listening to Jim, Reeves, Tammy Wynette, Don Williams and many others. Country Music was a big part of our lives even then. Whenever we went anywhere in the car we would sing all the way there so we never got bored.
Mum and Dad started going to the 'Lazy C' Country & Western club and getting dressed up in all the western gear. I used to love watching Mum make her outfits on the sewing machine and longed for the day I would be old enough to go myself. When I was 18, My mum asked me if I wanted a party. My reply was was simply "No!" as I wanted to go to the Country Club. I have enjoyed the Country Scene ever since. We would go to the Americana and the The Great North Country Music Festival every year, GAV!N would take his guitar and we would sing round the campfires all night long where I would harmonise with whatever song we sang.
5 Years ago we were in the After-Show party tent, with the guitar out and us two singing and entertaining the crowd. People were saying "Why don't you two put an act together. As I am a nervous type I thought that I could never do anything like that. I may love singing but I didn't have much confidence in myself to stand up and perform in front of a paying audience. We thought about it for a short while and then decided to give it a go. Now in our 5th year, I really enjoy entertaining people and would love to carry on until I can't sing anymore. Hopefully that won't be for a long time yet
